What does it roughly cost to educate a student  at Driscoll Catholic High School for 1 year?  $9,500.00

What do we charge?

Tuition Cost:  $7,925.00
Registration Fee: $   200.00 (NON-REFUNDABLE)
Textbook Rental: $   425.00 (Non-Refundable after August 1, 2008)
Total Tuition: $8,550.00

This is just the basic cost of tuition.  The above balance does not include athletic fees, retreat  fees, graduation fee, and/or for those students that drive to school there is a  parking fee.

Explanation of Fees

Tuition Fee:
The tuition at Driscoll Catholic High School for the year  2008 -2009 is $7,925.00

Registration Fee:
A non-refundable registration fee of $200.00 is required when the student signs up for courses for the following year.

Tuition Deposit:
A deposit of tuition of $250.00 is required of each student at the time of registration.   Deposit is non-refundable after May 1st and is part of the total tuition cost.  Students whose registration fee and deposit are not paid by due dates will not be given confirmed schedules for the coming school year and will be placed on a waiting list until  fees are paid.

Textbook Rental Fee:
A $425.00 rental fee is required for all textbooks, workbooks, lab fees, academic fees and PLAN/PSAT testing.  This fee is due July 1, 2008 and should be included with the July tuition payment.  Rental fee is not refundable after August 1st.  Students are required to return their books to Driscoll in good condition or a replacement cost will be charged.  The rental program does not include:  summer reading books, English class novels, retreat, registration, yearbook, athletic fees or schedule charges.

NSF Checks Fee:
A charge of $25.00 will be charged to the account whenever a check is returned to the school by the bank marked as unpaid.  We do not re-deposit checks.  All accounts that incur more than two (2) NSF checks must pay via cashier's check, money order, credit card or cash.  Driscoll Catholic will not accept personal checks.

Graduation Fee:
A graduation fee of $125.00  is required of each senior.  This fee is due by April 1, 2009.  Seniors must have taken care of all their financial obligations to the school in order to attend prom, to participate in the commencement ceremony, and to receive their diploma.

Overnight Retreat Fees:
An overnight retreat will be required of each Junior attending Driscoll Catholic.  The retreat fee is $175.00.  The fee covers room and board.  There is an optional overnight retreat for Seniors too.  The fee is also $175.00.   The retreat fee is due by September 1, 2008.

Athletic Fees:
Athletic fees re due before practices begin.  Any fee not paid by the 3rd week of practice will be assessed a $25.00 late fee in addition to the regular fee and athletes will not be allowed to practice or play until the fee is paid.  Refund of athletic fees will not be given if a student leaves a team after the 3rd week of practice.  Athletic fees vary, depending what sport it is that the student is participating in.   To see Student Athletic Participation Fees click on highlighted area. 

Parking:
Students who drive their cars to school must obtain a parking pass from the Main Office.  A fee of $50.00 per year must be paid before parking passes are issued.  Parking fees are due the first week of classes.

Yearbooks:
The purchase of a yearbook is optional.  The yearbook moderator will contact students during the school year about procedures for ordering books and about the cost of the yearbook.

Summer School:
Students enrolled in summer school are responsible for payment before classes begin.  No refunds will be given after May 15, 2008 for dropped classes.

Refund Policy:
Tuition and/or fees that have been paid for a student who withdraws after August 1st will not be refunded.  If a student withdraws and then wishes to return, all customary fees will again apply at re-registration.  No credits will be allowed for fees previously paid.

Payment Plans Options

Now that you know how much the tuition will be for the year, the next question is "How do I pay for it?"

Financial Assistance/Work Study:
Driscoll Catholic understands the sacrifices families make to give their child the best possible education.  The school has a limited number of jobs available for students and adults who fulfill the requirements for financial assistance.  Forms are available in the Main Office and are due in to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment by March 1st.  Or you can apply to FACTS directly online by clicking on the following link www.factstuitionaid.com   Driscoll Catholic is committed to making a Catholic education affordable for everyone.  Families with questions regarding financial assistance should contact the school president.

Family Discount:
A $700.00 discount will be granted to families with two students in attendance in the same school year.  Families with three or more students in attendance in the same school year will receive a discount of $3,500.00.  There is a tuition cap per family of $19,575.00. (which includes the 3rd student discount).

Payment Plan:
You have to make payments to Facts Management Company.  The website is www.factspayment.com.   To log in to their system you will need the Agreement number & an invoice number.  You can get those two pieces of information from the invoice sent by FACTS.  If you need additional information you can reach them at  800 624-7092.  

 

Admittance to Class:
In keeping with Board and School Policy, all students must have their tuition and fees paid according to one of the payment plans to  (A) be admitted to class at the start of the school year,  (B) be allowed to take semester exams,  (C) receive class schedules in August.  In addition, no student will be admitted to classes on the first day of school unless we have a completed physical form on file in the Attendance Office and a Tuition Agreement Form on file in the Business Office.

Exclusions:
Students whose tuition is past due during periodic reviews are subject to exclusion from classes until their accounts are current.

Transfer Students:
Tuition is charged on a semester basis.  Students who transfer to or from Driscoll Catholic are responsible for the full tuition for the semester in which they transferred.

Fund Drives:
The mandatory fund raiser has been eliminated this year.  However, the student fund drive to raise funds for academic programs will continue to take place during the first semester.  All students participate in the Help-A-Thom activities; financial participation is encouraged but not mandatory.

 

Financial Assistance:

Tuition is a significant sacrifice for any family, and our LaSallian Tradition aims to make a Driscoll education available to all families, regardless of financial means. Driscoll’s financial assistance program is comprised of various aid resources. All families interested in applying for financial assistance must complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment forms for the 2007-08 school year, which can be obtained at the Main Office. All applicants who turn in their FACTS forms are then eligible to be selected for one or more of the following types of financial assistance:

Driscoll awards Grant money to families that apply for financial

need and vary in amount.

Work Study Program
Work Study is a program chosen for a select number of students
 who aid and assist around the school with various duties. Assistance
is awarded on an hourly basis, dependent on students completion of
their work hours.  
(combined with Adult Work Study)
Adult Work Study Program   
A select number of families are offered tuition credit for duties performed
on campus by parents or relatives of a student. Work Study applications must be returned by August 1st to ensure Adult Work Study hours.

Family Discount
When a family has students at Driscoll concurrently, they receive a
tuition discount no family will incur more than $19,575.00 in tuition
charges for the current school year.                                                                                                               
$700 tuition credit for second child
$3500 tuition credit for the 3rd child.

 All students applying for financial assistance must turn in their FACTS forms by March 1st, 2008. Award notices are mailed in June.

Where do I obtain a FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment form?
Driscoll Catholic has these forms available in the Main Office beginning January 1st, 2007. Forms will also be available at all of the Entrance Exams and can be sent to you upon request. Call the Admissions Office at (630) 543-6310 extension 830 to request a packet, or come to the Main Office duringregular business hours and one will be provided for you. You can also apply online at http://www.factstuitionaid.com

Do I need to apply for financial assistance every year?
Yes, families attending Driscoll Catholic must complete the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment forms every year to receive assistance.

Where do I turn in my FACTS forms?
Turn in all FACTS forms and paperwork to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment, PO Box 5688, Lincoln, NE 68505. Do not turn in any documents that the application asks for to Driscoll Catholic.

How are assistance packages determined?
Financial Assistance packages are determined by the review of the Financial Aid Report provided to Driscoll by the FACTS Program. Financial Assistance is distributed proportionally based on financial need demonstrated on a case by case basis.
