A Tradition of Giving
Advancement is a new and
growing department for many of today's institutions.
Universities, high schools, elementary schools, and non-profit
organizations have realized there must be a department that can
focus on institutional advancement and financial security for
the future.
The job of the Development
Department at Driscoll is to look toward the future and create
and maintain programs that can ensure the financial success of
the school. Part of that task involves organizing major
fundraisers and fundraising drives. Another part involves
reaching out to the community and to our alumni.
The faculty and staff at
Driscoll provide a college-preparatory instructional program in
the Lasallian tradition that is committed to the intellectual,
religious, physical and social development of every student.
The challenge, however, for the
Catholic school and especially Driscoll, is to offer an
affordable tuition rate while maintaining the standards of
excellence. We must ensure that Driscoll remains accessible and
affordable to all those families who want their child to receive
a Catholic and Lasallian education. To this end, we must rely
on the ability of those in a financial position to give, to
invest in Driscoll and Catholic education and, for those who
cannot give financially, to give of their time and talents.
With tuition covering only a
portion of the school's expenses, annual giving is the vital
link between making the dreams for our students a reality. The
Driscoll Annual Fund is the highest funding priority,
supporting academic programs, athletics, fine arts, technology,
libraries, extra -curricular opportunities, faculty salaries,
financial aid and more - everything that makes Driscoll great.
The Driscoll Annual Fund is the
total amount of money raised each year (July 1 through June 30)
that supplements tuition revenue for the Operating Budget. It
does not include capital expenditures. The annual goal is
$75,000. Over 4000 families and businesses will be receiving
information about the Driscoll Fund throughout the year.
