 Letter of Intent Day

Senior Matt  will be running track next year for Augustana College's nationally ranked Division III track and field team.  The Augustana team is currently ranked in the top 10 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III Power Rankings and finished in eighth place in the 2007 NCAA Divsion III outdoor championships.  Matt is the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship, Augustana's most prestigious scholarship which is awarded for academic excellence and leadership.  He is an Eagle Scout and a member of the National Honor Society, has been a captain of the Driscoll soccer and track and field teams, and is a member of the Math Team. 

 

Kevin & Tim signed to play with Western Illinois University.   They  will be playing football for the Western Illinois Leathernecks.  Kevin was a member of the 2006 Football Championship team.   Kevin will be playing baseball in the spring.  He was a member of the 3rd place baseball team in 2006.   Kevin is a member of S.A.D.D. and T.A.T.U.  Kevin was accompanied by his parents Dr. Peter Palermo, Mrs. Mary Ann Palermo, and  his brothers and sister.
 
Tim earned all-conference honors as a junior defensive back... named to all-conference, all-area and all-state teams as a senior running back... named one of the top three running backs in Illinois by the Chicago Tribune... ran for 1,782 yards and 33 touchdowns in 2007... amassed 51 touchdowns in two seasons, including 42 as a senior... set a record in the class 4A state title game with five rushing touchdowns... rushed for more than 3,000 yards and averaged 10 yards per carry throughout his career... helped Driscoll Catholic to back-to-back state titles... named the Suburban Catholic Conference's co-offensive player of the year. Tim was also in Track & Field last year.  


David signed with the University of St. Francis to play baseball under legendary coach Gordie Gillespie.   He was part of the 3rd place baseball team at State in 2006.  Schwabe hit .491 as a junior.  David was quarterback for the  2006 Football team.   Currently David is playing basketball for the Highlanders.  The team is 12 - 6 as of 1/17.   David is not just an athlete he is also a Campus Minister,  a member of the National Honor Society and he is a Driscoll Diplomat.  


Stephanie signed her Letter of Intent with her parents and Driscoll coaches and new coach to be by her side.  She will be going to Ashford University a Division II University.   She will be playing softball for the Saints.  She will play her last year at Driscoll this coming Spring.  Stephanie  was part of the Lady Highlander team that beat Willowbrook High School in the first round of the playoffs last season.


Adam Davis & Jake Lindfors signed their Letter of Intent in the presence of coaches, parents, grandparents, & school administration. 

Adam Davis signed with The Fighting Illini a Big 10 school.   He will be playing baseball for the Illini.  He was accompanied by his mother Lisa Lesniak , step-father Jeff Lesniak and his father Adam Davis Sr.  Varsity Baseball Coach Sean Bieterman was present at his side as he signed the letter.  Adam was part of the Highlander Baseball team that placed 3rd in state in 2006 with a record of 36 - 4.  Currently, Adam is playing Football for the Highlanders.  Their next game will be this Saturday, November 17th at 1:00 P.M. at Robert A. Barth Field against the Coal City Coalers.  This is the Semi-Final Game.

Jake Lindfors will be playing Basketball for the University at Albany, in New York.  University at Albany is a Division 1 school.    Jake was a member of the Highlanders when they took the Conference Title in 2006.    Jake was accompanied by his father Ron Lindfors and mother Pam Lindfors.  His grandparents were also present along with Varsity Basketball Coach Nick Latorre.  Jake is currently getting ready for the new basketball season.  The Highlanders  will be competing at the Lisle Thanksgiving Tournament on 11/19/2007 at 8:00 P.M. At Lisle Sr. High School.
