Prospective Students

Admissions Policy:

Sharing the religious mission of the Catholic Church, Driscoll Catholic High school is a co-educational secondary school which serves parents and students in Northern DuPage and Northwest Cook Counties.  Students of all races and creeds are welcome to attend Driscoll Catholic.  In general, college preparatory potential must be demonstrated.  Driscoll extends a strong educational challenge to all students.  Some students' academic development at the time of entrance may require special courses to assist them towards college prep status.

8th Grade Admission Requirements: Criteria for Admission:

1.  Admission Test Scores
2.  Teachers' Recommendations - Evaluation Form
3.  Parental Interview

Students with special needs will be counseled about schools having programs better suited to address their special circumstances.

Transfer Student Admission Requirements:  Students already in high school who wish to transfer to Driscoll Catholic High School should note the following:

1.  Students usually will be accepted at the beginning of a marking period only.
2. Students will demonstrate academic ability to meet the graduation and credit requirements of DCHS.
3.  Students will have a personal interview with the Assistant Principal to discuss the reasons for the transfer, school and student expectations, and a program of studies.
4.  Students are expected to pay all fees and tuition for the whole semester.
5.  DCHS  typically does not accept seniors unless they are moving into the Driscoll area.
6.  Transfer credit will be accepted by DCHS for all courses passed with a minimum grade of "D".  No credit will be given to courses awarded a "P".
7.  When the G.P.A. is recalculated on the DCHS scale, weighted credit will be given only for the exact number of specific courses for which students at DCHS had the opportunity to also earn weighted credit.
8.  Academic performance must indicate college preparatory potential.  All transfer students are on academic probation of their first year at DCHS.
9.  Acceptance of new and/or transfer students will be based on available space in each academic class.
10.  Transfer students are placed on disciplinary probation for their first year at Driscoll Catholic High School.
